Tip Sheet to Save the World
After reading through Dancing in the Shadow of Tyranny, An Activist's Guide to Inner Disarmament with the question in my mind, “What key points am I making here about the specific changes humanity must undertake now to get through this planetary crisis?” I have outlined below the main ones I touch upon in the book.

1) Immediate international application of all the rights defined in “The United Nations’ Bill of Human Rights” This is the most important step toward a world free of war, violence, abuse, and exploitation. This is absolutely necessary for the rest of these points, which follow, to be implemented.

a. Our world government must consist of nation-states united in a consensus democracy, based on a constitution that outlaws war, sexual and child abuse, national tyrants, and environmental pollution.
b. Consensus democracy must replace “majority rule” or authoritarian processes.
c. Positions of concentrated power that can be abused must be eliminated. Both politically and economically, this is essential in order to cease the abuse and exploitation of all nations.
d. No abuse of persons. No child abuse, no spouse abuse, no political or ethnic abuse.
e. Historical accountability of the facts. No mental tyranny through censure or control of information.

2) The next most important key to begin with is that war and violence must be universally outlawed and all preparations for war must cease.

a. No testing of nuclear or biological weapons,
b. no manufacture or research of new weapons,
c. and the immediate disarmament of all existing weapons of mass destruction.

3) Number one priority for all life on Earth is that humanity clean up our relationship with the planet. This means:

a. we immediately adopt non-toxic, non-polluting, appropriate technologies for our ecological health.
b. All use of limited natural resources on the planet must be collectively decided by all nations.
c. Carbon emissions must be targeted especially.
d. Clean energy systems must be subsidized immediately.
e. Humans must recognize our connection and participation in the energy of divinity, evolution, the Earth and the Sun, our environment, as well as our attitudes and thoughts. This is the key to the shift in perception we need to solve our global problems.

4) Tolerance and respect for diversity must become an essential part of our global atttitude.

a. It must be celebrated, encouraged, honored, and memorialized.
b. Religious intolerance will not be tolerated.
c. Worldwide religious tolerance at the same time “cult awareness” techniques must be taught to balance religious fanaticism and holy war frenzy with our modern world’s needs to survive

5) Worldwide elementary and secondary educational systems must include training and classes in:

a. Non-violent Communication
b. Listening skills?
c. Identifying and communicating feelings
d. Problem solving

k. There must be pro-active changes in educational institutions and media corporations that encourage non-judgmental attitudes.

6) Free therapy and rehabilitation for all abuse victims, which includes those who suffer from post-taumatic stress due to war and violence. Free therapy for all military veterans

7) Reorganization of all judicial criteria

a. on an “only if absolutely necessary” basis of violent crimes that have victims?
b. and that appropriately differentiates between “punishment” and “rehabilitation” in sentencing;
c. and have most judicial proceedings aimed at dealing with governmental and environmental criminals who are abusing all our human rights as outlined in the UN document on rights already mentioned.
d. Also limits of per capita percentages for prison populations,
e. as well as complete reform of all prison systems in order to cease abusive and degrading practices.
f. Alcohol, drugs, tobacco industries must be accountable for the media advertising they do as well as have 3rd party watchdogs monitoring the safe use of their products (even under doctor supervision).

8) All people must have freedom from government and business intrusion,

a. both personally in the privacy of their home and mentally from any tyranny or “chilling” affects.
b. The human body must not be used as a witness against the person except in only the most severe of capital crimes.

i. No use of any part of the body may be demanded by employment or social services.
ii. No DNA, blood, or urine testing may be demanded by govenments or busineses for the purposes of tracking rehabilitation progress, or present and past crimes of citizens not charged with capital crimes.
